Seasoned Skewers

You can prepare your food with the Skewers in just 5 easy steps:
  1. Skewer your food.

Try meat, seafood, poultry, veggies - whatever you like! Pieces of food about an inch thick work best. So cherry tomatoes and shrimp can be skewered whole, but chicken and zucchini should be cut up.

  2. Let your Seasoned Skewers infuse the food with flavor for 10-15 minutes.

If you want more or less flavor, you can let it sit for more or less time. Beware of letting strong flavors sit for too long, though - your food might become over-flavored.

  3. Cook with the skewers in place. Your food will continue to soak up flavor.

You can use the Skewers however you like - on an indoor grill, an outdoor grill, or in the oven. Just cook as you normally would, making sure that the food is thoroughly done.

  4. Add salt and pepper, or our Seasoned Salts, as desired.

You'll get plenty of flavor if you use Seasoned Skewers alone, but you can always add sauces or dry seasonings to suit your own unique taste.

  5. Enjoy!

You may want to remove the food from the skewer within a few minutes of cooking as the Skewers will continue to add flavor.

Keep in Mind:

As with any wood products, be careful of occasional splinters.

If food is left on the skewers for more than 3 hours without flash freezing, the flavor could get too strong.

If you cook on an open grill, you may want to keep the handle ends of the Skewers from charring. Foil is a great way to do this: you can either wrap the ends of the skewers or put a strip of foil straight on the grill, under the handle (non-seasoned) ends.

Foodservice and Catering:

If you work in foodservice or catering, we have Skewers for you, too! We are still developing a Skewer that can be prepared well in advance without being flash frozen. Until then, though, you can follow these instructions:

  1. Skewer your food.
  2. Let stand (see the chart below for recommended time ranges).
  3. Place skewered items on grill, oven, skillet, etc.
  4. Cook on skewer to desired doneness.
